Alice Lloyd College is celebrating a major milestone this weekend – 100 years of education in the Appalachian region. Join us on Saturday, October 7, 2023, to celebrate the centennial of Alice Lloyd College during the Appalachia Day Homecoming festival.

On Appalachia Day, hundreds of friends and alumni gather on campus to listen to traditional mountain music and peruse booths displaying the arts and crafts of Appalachian artisans. Other events that take place during this day of fun and fellowship include the annual Alumni Association Meeting, various athletic events, children’s storytelling, an Appalachian writers’ book signing, the induction of new members into the ALC Athletic Hall of Fame, the coronation of the Homecoming Queen and Princess, and the traditional soup bean supper.

This year’s Appalachia Day Homecoming will feature a special Centennial Program in the Campbell Arts Center, a special ceremony for the campus’ new chapel bell tower, a traditional soup bean supper, and a Centennial Celebration Concert featuring Britt Nicole and Consumed by Fire.
