Pikeville, KY: The Alice Lloyd College Eagles baseball team (5-18) traveled to Pikeville on Tuesday, March 29th, to play the Bears (13-19) in a single game contest. In eight innings, the hosts prevailed 11-1.

UPike scored 3 in the opener and then belted a home run one inning later to jump ahead 4-0.

Alice Lloyd dented the scoreboard in the third when 2 singles and a fielder’s choice plated a run (4-1). However, that would prove to be their only run of the game.

Pikeville would spread out 5 runs over the next three innings to pull ahead 9-1 after six. They would then slam the door shut in the eighth when they produced 2 more scores. (11-1).

Peyton Brown (1B) and Chase Madden (2B) both knocked 2 hits on the day with Brown smacking a double. Kason Hofsess (SS) provided the lone RBI.

Will Gladson started on the mound for ALC, allowing 7 hits, 6 runs, and striking out 6.

The Bears racked up 13 hits on the day to Alice Lloyd’s 7. ALC did hurt themselves with 3 errors.
