Middletown, OH: The Alice Lloyd College men and women’s indoor track squads recently participated in the River States Conference Championships.

After the dust settled on all events for the men’s side, four individual Eagles had earned points for the squad. The club finished 10th overall out of the 12 participating schools.

Junior Dakota Owens led the way as he finished 2nd overall in the 200m to earn All-Conference in that event. He just missed a second medal in the 400m, as he finished 4th overall.

Additionally, freshman Nikolas Chasteen set a new school record in the 60m dash, which propelled him to a 4th Place finish, while freshman Davy Bentley and sophomore Avery Jenkins also earned points for the squad in their respective events.

Furthermore, the Men’s 4x400m relay team finished 6th overall to earn more valuable points.

Individual Point Winners

Dakota Owens: 2nd place 200 m (All Conference-8 pts) 22.76 seconds; 4th place 400m (5 points) 51.63 seconds.

Nikolas Chasteen: 4th place 60m (5 points) 7.17 seconds (new Alice Lloyd Record)

Davy Bentley: High Jump 5th place 5’10.75” (4 points)

Avery Jenkins: High Jump 7th place (tied) 5’7” (1.5 points)

Relays

Men’s 4x400m (Jordan Strevels, Rhett Estep, Britt Lawson IV, Dakota Owens) 6th place: 3:44 (3 points)

On the women’s side, the Lady Eagles finished 12th overall out of the 12 participating schools. Sophomore Sara Cecil was the leader as she narrowly missed out on earning points for her club.
