ALC dropped its third straight game in conference action last night on the road to the Eagles of Cincinnati Christian University, losing 92-74.

After falling in a close one at Brescia and one at home to nationally-ranked IU Southeast, Alice Lloyd was eager to get back into the winning column. Unfortunately for the ALC Eagles, Cincinnati Christian came out on fire, hitting its first three shots, and would not look back. The home team’s defense robbed Alice Lloyd of any offensive momentum, and ALC would trail 33-41 at intermission.

The second half would only continue the story of the first as Alice Lloyd could not threaten CCU.

For ALC (10-11; 5-6 KIAC), sophomore Cody Malicoat led the way with 19 points and 6 rebounds.

Cincinnati Christian (16-9; 9-3 KIAC) was paced by Michael Hill with 23 points on 10-of-18 shooting.

The difference in the game came down to Alice Lloyd’s inability to be effective on offense. The Eagles shot a frigid 40% for the game while CCU shot at a better clip, near 53%. ALC was also out-rebounded 47-28.

ALC will face another road test on Sunday, February 9th at IU East. That game will tip at 2 PM.
