Join us in the Perry Campus Center on Saturday, May 4th to celebrate this year’s graduating class. Baccalaureate services will be held at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow the Baccalaureate until 12:00 p.m. Commencement will begin at 12:15 p.m.

Reverend Jamie Hughes will be this year’s Baccalaureate speaker. Reverend Hughes serves as Pastor of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Garner, KY, which he and his family established in 2008. Reverend Hughes graduated from Alice Lloyd College in 2002 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Studies Secondary Education. Along with his wife, Dr. Juanita Fraan Hughes, also a graduate of Alice Lloyd College, the Hughes family have served the people of Eastern Kentucky for over 25 years.

Hilda Legg will be this year’s Commencement speaker. Hilda joined the board of Alice Lloyd College as a trustee in 1992 and was selected as vice chairwoman of the Executive Board in 1999. The Adair County, KY native is co-owner of her family’s farm and has dedicated more than 40 years of her career to rural development. Hilda was the first Executive Director and CEO of The Center for Rural Development in Eastern Kentucky, which built a wide area network and promoted distance learning and telemedicine. She has served under four United States presidents, working to enhance economic and educational opportunities in rural communities and to strengthen agricultural driven rural economies. Most recently, Hilda served the Trump administration of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Director for the state of Kentucky until January 2021. She is a consultant for Legg Strategies in Lexington, KY, where she resides with her husband, Michael Potter.

As we look forward to the Baccalaureate and Commencement on Saturday, we want to share some information about traffic and parking. Please remember that Purpose Road is one-way. 

  • On-campus parking will be limited. Please allow extra time for parking and transportation to the Perry Campus Center.
  • Absolutely NO PARKING along the right side of Purpose Road. This will be a Tow-Away zone. Parking will be allowed along the left side of the road in designated marked parking spaces.
  • Guests can be dropped off at the walk bridge to Perry Campus Center.
  • Shuttles will run from Lots C, X, and Z at the end of the campus before and after the ceremonies. Again, please allow extra time for parking and transport back to PCC.
  • Lot A, located directly next to the Perry Campus Center, is reserved for handicapped guests with a valid handicap permit. Space is limited in the lot.
