The clouds are broken in the sky,
And thro' the mountain-walls
A rolling organ-harmony
Swells up, and shakes and falls.
Then move the trees, the copses nod,
Wings flutter, voices hover clear:
"O just and faithful knight of God!
Ride on! the prize is near."
—Lord Alfred Tennyson, from Sir Galahad

Why did you choose to attend Alice Lloyd College?
I wanted to attend Alice Lloyd College for several reasons. Small class sizes means that the professors are able to interact more closely with students. The College offers excellent academic programs that I knew would prepare me for my professional goals. From a financial perspective, I was aware that the ALC wold allow me to graduate with the least amount of debt and could potentially help me in my pursuit of a professional degree through the Caney Cottage Scholarship.
What advantages have you received by participating in the work-study program at Alice Lloyd College?
Work-study has provided me with the opportunity to acquire skills that are both marketable and useful in daily life. The one that stands out the most would be time management. Learning to balance classes, work-study, and the demands of everyday life is one of the most valuable skills I've acquired. The work-study program also instills a sense of work ethic and teamwork while lowering the cost of my education. I think that this is one of the reasons that both graduate programs and the workforce, as a whole, are so willing to accept Alice Lloyd graduates. They're aware that graduates from this college are willing to work hard to achieve their goals.
What advice would you give incoming students to ensure their success at Alice Lloyd College?
Keep an open-mind and never lose sight of your goal! You may struggle along the way but don't be afraid to reach out for help. Someone on campus is always willing to lend a helping hand. Remain dedicated and focused. In the end, you're sure to succeed!!
