Brittney Buttrey

Lexington, KY: The Alice Lloyd College Women’s and Men’s Outdoor Track team traveled to Transylvania University to participate in the school’s first-ever outdoor track meet. Coach Brandon Arnold had a total of 25 athletes take part in this historic first for the school.

In women’s action, several Eagles won their individual heats including Kimberly Lee in the Shotput.

Senior Brittney Buttrey debuted for the Eagles in the 10,000 meters and finished fourth overall with a time of 44:23 seconds. Her placement earned 5 points for the squad.

In the discus, freshman Allie Rose finished with a throw of 33.97, which was good enough for a seventh place overall, and earned 3 points for the squad.

In men’s action, several Eagles won their individual heats including Dakota Owens in the 200M, and Alex Lewis in the 800M.

Ryan Morris

Junior Ryan Morris debuted for the Eagles in the 10,000 meters and won the 10K with a time of 33:52 seconds, to best a field of 10 runners. His win earned 10 points for the squad.

For their first showing, the squad performed quite well as many other participants’ just fell below the qualification line.

The Eagles return to the track on Saturday when they travel to Danville to participate in the Centre College Invitational.
