It was a busy stretch for our Lady Volleyball Eagles with three home games this past week. These were the first home games that the squad has had this season. For every game, there was high energy and a great turnout from the student body. The Lady Eagles came up a little short in two of the games but brought home a huge victory against Hiwassee College.

On Monday night, September 19, the Lady Eagles took on Johnson University. Though this game was not a victory, all three set scores were very close (25-23, 26-24, 27-25) and there was a tremendous effort put in by every player on the team. Leading the team in serves that night was #13 Haley Smith and #10 Alex Hunter. #14 Sam Sturgill had the most attacks in all three of the sets. #2 Lindsay Perkins had the most digs on the night.

On Tuesday night, September 20, the matchup was against Hiwassee College. The Lady Eagles walked away with this game after a hard fought battle going four sets. It was their amazing teamwork and skills that won this game for the ladies.  #14 Sam Sturgill led the team in serving, blocks and attacks. #2 Lindsay Perkins led the team with the most digs, and #10 Alex Hunter had the most assists. All the ladies really stepped up and played a great game to claim their first at home victory.

On Thursday night, September 22, the team played Midway College. Again, there was close set scores, but the Eagles did not walk away with the victory. A positive sign was the continued teamwork and improvement shown by the hosts. #25 Kenzie Slone led the team in serves. #14 Sam Sturgill led the team in attacks with #2 Lindsay Perkins not far behind. #13 Haley Smith walked away with the most digs in the game.

Eagle Nation is very proud of our Lady Eagles for all three games that they played this past week. The team would like to thank each of the students, staff and parents that came out the support them. We wish them the best of luck on the rest of their season and hope to see more victories in the near future.
