Volleyball First Win
The Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles volleyball team, under the tutelage of Coach Jason Stowers and Assistant Coach Jolene Watts, traveled to Knoxville, Tennessee to participate in two matches on Tuesday. They opened up play against the hosts from Johnson University before battling Hiwassee College in the climax. Below are recaps of each contest.

In the opening matchup of the night, the Lady Eagles played hard from start to finish, but fell in three games to the hosts.
For the visitors, junior Katie McFarland (Church Hill, TN) had 2 attacks and 1 kill. Sophomores Shayla Brinegar (Irvine, KY) and Delaney Pritchard (Mt. Sterling, KY) had 2 kills and 15 digs, respectively, while fellow sophomore Sarrah Huber led the club with 6 kills.

In the second matchup of the night, the Lady Eagles played solid from the get-go to earn their first victory of the season.

For the victors, several players had noteworthy efforts. Freshman Macy Allen (Chesapeake, OH) had 5 kills and 8 aces. Junior Katie McFarland (Church Hill, TN) had 4 aces, 7 digs, and 3 kills. Sophomores Shayla Brinegar (Irvine, KY) and Delaney Pritchard (Mt. Sterling, KY) added 10 aces and 10 digs, respectively. In addition, freshman Sadie Slone (Hi Hat, KY) contributed 8 assists and 1 kill.

The Lady Eagles return to action on September 14th in a tri-match at Asbury University.
