Brewer Signing

Tyler Brewer signs to play basketball for the ALC Eagles.

The Alice Lloyd College men’s basketball program, under the direction of head coach J. R. Hammond, is pleased to announce the signing of Harlan County High School’s mega-talented point guard Tyler Brewer to an athletic letter of intent for the 2013-14 season.

Brewer brings a lot of promise to the Eagles squad with his scoring ability and athleticism. The 6’1″ Black Bears leader might well prove to be an excellent backup point guard for senior Isaac Wilson.

During his senior season at Harlan County, Brewer showcased an impressive ability to get to the rim, scoring almost at will. He led the Black Bears to a 52nd District title and became the first Harlan County High School player to surpass 1,000 points, closing his career as the school’s leading scorer. For his efforts, Brewer was named the 13th Region’s Player of the Year by both the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches and the 13th Region Boys Basketball Coaches Association. He received a spot on the roster of the Kentucky East-West All-Star game and garnered Honorable Mention on the Lexington Herald-Leader‘s Boys’ All-State basketball team.

The Eagles are excited to welcome Brewer to Pippa Passes and look forward to seeing him in action.
