Alice Lloyd jumped out to a 16-5 lead in the first five minutes of the game and coasted to a 86-64 win over Johnson University last night. The contest took place at the Grady Nutt Athletic Center.
In the first half, junior Stuart Stamper and freshman Tyler Rogers scored 7 and 6 early points to jump-start the hosts to a quick lead. The Eagles used this momentum to surge ahead 46-21 by intermission.
In the second half, Johnson battled hard, but they were unable to close the gap any closer than 17 points.
For the victors (3-3) Isaac Wilson paved the way with 17 points and 8 assists. Rogers and Stamper each netted 15, while senior Terry Muse tallied 11.
The Eagles dominated the glass, outrebounding JU 50-22. Muse led in rebounding with 7.
Johnson University (0-4) was led by Ricky Bowen with a game high 21 points.
