{nl}Alice Lloyd College would like to congratulate Brandi Nichole Meade on her recent 1st place national victory at the 2010 Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) National Conference.  ALC has participated in FBLA-PBL for several years and has always had a good showing at the national level.  However, this year, Brandi was able to claim the top prize in the nation in the category of Management Concepts.{nl}The competition was held July 9-12 in Nashville, Tennessee.  Participants from around the country, and the world, were in attendance for this conference and the FBLA-PBL Institute for Leaders.  During her competition, Brandi was given a 100-question multiple choice exam.  Questions on the exam focused on all aspects of management, including human resources and leadership.  She received her 1st place national recognition at the PBL Awards of Excellence on July 12.{nl}Brandi’s award was part of a comprehensive competitive events program sponsored by FBLA-PBL.  Individuals, state teams, and local chapters were encouraged to compete in any of the over 50 different events representing a wide range of activities and the business and leadership development focus of FBLA-PBL.  The winners of these highly competitive and prestigious awards were selected from among FBLA-PBL’s membership of 250,000 students and advisers.{nl}Brandi has had a phenomenal Senior year at Alice Lloyd College, receiving both the Rachel D. Mullinax Award for Outstanding Senior in Accounting and the Alice Geddes Lloyd Leadership Award.  Additionally, Brandi has been accepted to the University of Kentucky’s Von Allmen School of Accountancy, a highly selective program which admits only 30 students each year.  It is easy to see why Brandi is one of Alice Lloyd College’s “brightest and best” students!
