The 2012 edition of the Alice Lloyd College Volleyball team will be the first in school history to fully compete in the KIAC Conference. Coach Jason Stowers, along with Assistant Jolene Watts, has fifteen women who will suit up for the Eagles this year.

Johnsons Make a Special Donation to ALC

Recently, George Johnson, who received a degree from the College in 1974, and his brother Greg, both founding members of Johnson Industries in Pikeville, KY, presented ALC Vice President Jim Stepp with an electric car.

College Prepares for Arrival of Students
It is late August in Pippa Passes, Kentucky, and the campus of Alice Lloyd College is alive and expectant with a special kind of feeling: change. It’s not just that there is the hint of autumn in the thick, deep forests that surround the College; no, this change is much more important and far more exciting. The fall semester of 2012 will witness one of the largest crops of new students to ever venture onto the banks of Caney Creek. That’s over two hundred Appalachian young people, all of them dreaming of a better future. All of them capable of leading an entire region.

Moving Mountains: WYMT Features ALC in Top News Spot
The cost of getting a college education is on the rise, but Alice Lloyd College is remaining true to its long-standing mission of making an ALC education available to qualified mountain students regardless of their financial situation. So dedicated is the College to this mission, in fact, that CBS-affiliate, WYMT-TV, visited campus to discover why our students are not worried about the nation’s current student debt crisis. The report was the top story on the station’s evening news broadcast.
