Why did you choose to attend The June Buchanan School?
My brother attended JBS. Seeing how much he liked it, my parents signed me up for JBS when I was in pre-school. I'm now a senior, and I feel privileged to attend this wonderful school. I love JBS, especially the faculty and students --- they are literally like family to me. Plus, the education I get here is outstanding! I couldn't ask for a better place.
What advantages have you received by being a student at The June Buchanan School?
One on one teaching with the students, small class sizes, excellent teachers, a superb education, and the love and support of everyone here.
What advice would you give to incoming students to ensure their success at The June Buchanan School?
Definitely work hard. If you work hard, you will not only excel in school, but you will earn the best education you can get. Plus, don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone! The faculty and staff at JBS are so friendly, which makes it easier to try new things.

The June Buchanan School (JBS) was founded in 1984 as a model laboratory school for students who desire to excel academically and reside within the general vicinity of Alice Lloyd College. This private, co-educational, college-preparatory school for grades K-12 is unique in that it has a challenging curriculum and shares a college campus.
Students have access to a state-of-the-art college library facility where they can take advantage of reference and resource materials that are readily available, as well as interlibrary loans and the virtual library. Recreational facilities such as an Olympic-sized indoor pool, weight room, bookstore, racquetball court, two gymnasiums, and much more, are at our students' finger tips.
Further, qualifying JBS junior and senior high school students are offered the opportunity to take advantage of our Caney Honors Achievement Program (CHAP). Through CHAP, students can take college-level courses at ALC, and can graduate from high school with one semester (or 12 hours) of college credit at no out-of-pocket expense. The program encourages students to continue their educations.
