Alice Lloyd College has received national recognition for our strong performance during the 2022-2023 fiscal year.

Forbes 2023 edition of College Financial Grades gave ALC a financial letter grade of ‘A’ and a GPA of 4.09, placing the College among the top three best-value colleges in Kentucky. In addition to Forbes’ rating, Yahoo! Finance lists ALC as one of the ten best colleges to graduate with no student loans. U.S. News and World Report ranked the College among the top five for best value schools in the Regional Colleges South category.

ALC President Jim Stepp says, “The College is grateful to be recognized for the high-quality education we provide in Appalachia. We are thankful for our wonderful friends across the nation who help us maintain our founders’ mission to provide the opportunity of an affordable, character-based, service-oriented education for mountain students.”

Alice Lloyd College provides students with a unique opportunity for a quality education at a low cost. Through ALC’s tuition guarantee, students do not pay any out-of-pocket tuition costs.  Students also work to offset the remaining cost of education through the Student Work Program. ALC’s strong commitment to our students extends even after graduation, as the College helps qualifying students afford graduate school through the Caney Scholars Program. This commitment can be seen through the success of our students. 97% of ALC’s class of 2022 began jobs and/or graduate/professional programs within six months of graduation.

Over one hundred years ago, Mrs. Alice Lloyd responded to a vision sent from God to educate the children of Appalachia. Her mission and legacy live on through our dedicated faculty, staff, alumni, and wonderful friends who have made these achievements possible. It is with great humility that we are able to see the mission Mrs. Lloyd began so long ago earn national recognition today.
