This week in Pippa Passes will be a fun and rewarding one for ALC students. Our students have worked diligently all year in the classroom and the work-study program and their efforts will be celebrated this week during Honor’s Day and the Student Work Awards.

This year’s Honor’s Day will be at 1 pm in the Campbell Arts Center on Tuesday, April 11th. This convocation is required of all students and is dedicated to honoring students for their academic excellence. Student Work Awards will take place later this week.

The Student Work Awards convocation will honor students for their achievements within the work-study program from 10-11:30 am in the Campbell Arts Center on Thursday, April 13th. ALC’s annual Work Study Olympics will follow the Student Work Awards from noon-4 pm in the meadow.

In other news, the Resident Advisors will host a student dance in the Aux Gym of the Perry Campus Center from 7pm-9pm this Tuesday night. The theme for the dance is ‘Neon Night’ and the event is casual dress. Student Services wishes to remind attending students that any off-campus guests wishing to attend the dance must be registered in the Dean of Students’ Office.

This week is also the last week for interested students to apply to become an R.A. (the deadline to apply is Friday, April 14th). All R.A. applicants must sign up for an interview; a sheet will be posted on the door of DSC 205. Because of the many campus events this week, Open Dorms have been canceled.

In sports, the Eagles and Lady Eagles will have a busy week featuring athletic events almost every day! On Monday, April 10th, the ALC Golf teams will begin play in the Northeast Tennessee Spring Invitational which will conclude on Tuesday, April 11th. Also on Tuesday, the Baseball team will play against Milligan University at home. On Wednesday, April 12th, the Softball team will face Midway University. On Friday, April 14th, the Baseball team will battle Oakland City University at Oakland City while the Softball team clashes with Carlow University at home.

On Saturday, April 15th, the Baseball team will finish play against Oakland City while the Softball team takes on WVU Tech at home. Then, on Sunday, April 16th, the Softball team will play against Miami-Hamilton in Ohio while the Golf teams begin play in the River States Conference Championship.
