This weekend in Pippa Passes will be a busy time as ALC students study and prepare for their final exams this upcoming week. To create a quiet environment and eliminate distractions in the dormitories, 24-Hour quiet hours will be in effect in all residence halls and their immediate vicinity from 6pm today (Friday, April 28th) until the last final exam has concluded on Thursday, May 4th.

Students remaining on campus this weekend can take a study break by attending the Student Government Association sponsored event “Bingo with Blessings” in the Ralph Edwards Auditorium at 6:30pm on Saturday, April 29th. Anyone on campus is welcome to attend the Bingo night; admission is $5 per person and all proceeds will go towards helping victims of the July flooding. Students may also study at the McGaw Library this weekend. The library staff has posted extended hours for the weekend so students can utilize the facility to prepare for their final exams. The library will be open from 8am-7pm on Friday the 28th, from 12pm-7pm on Saturday the 29th, and from 12pm-11pm on Sunday the 30th.

All Resident Advisors will be on campus this weekend and the upcoming week through graduation. The R.A.s for the fall 2023 semester and their dormitory placement have been announced; a list of the fall 2023 R.A.s and their placement is available in the May 1st Edition of the Campus Voice. Students wishing to sign out of their dorm room for the semester must sign up for a time to check out with their Resident Advisor. Before leaving for the semester, students must also turn in their Campus Post Office key.

This week in Pippa Passes is Finals Week, with final exams taking place from Monday, May 1st through Thursday, May 4th. Pioneer Catering will be providing their annual “Cramfest” event in the Hunger Din from 8pm to 9pm on Monday, May 1st. Cramfest is a Pioneer Catering tradition at ALC that is a late-night, comfort-food feast that students look forward to each semester. Attending students will be able to enjoy brain food such as eggs, sausage and gravy, pancakes, and more!

It’s a quiet week for sports, with only one athletic event. On Monday, May 1st, the Lady Eagles Softball Team will take on Point Park University. If you are interested in ALC’s spring sports and upcoming games, click here to check out our Athletics Page.

On Saturday, May 6th, ALC will host its Baccalaureate and Graduation ceremonies and the 2023 spring semester will officially come to an end.
