This week in Pippa Passes we are enjoying the spring weather as the leaves return and the flowers along Caney Creek start to bloom. It’s a beautiful time to be in Pippa Passes and it’s great weather for this week’s exciting sports action and evening events.

In sports, on Monday, March 27th, the Lady Eagles softball team will take on Rio Grande University at home. Then, on Tuesday the 28th, they will take on Ohio Christian University at home before traveling to take on Point Park University on Friday the 31st and Carlow University on Saturday, April 1st. The Eagles Baseball team will face Bluefield College in an away matchup. The Eagles Baseball team will take on Kentucky Christian University at home on Wednesday the 29th and Rio Grande University at home on Saturday, April 1st and Sunday the 2nd.

On Wednesday, March 29th, ALC’s Student Government Association will host a Kentucky Blood Center Blood Drive from 11 am until 3 pm in Cushing Hall. This will be the last SGA hosted blood drive of the school year. SGA President Jonathan Blair would like to remind everyone that blood is constantly in demand and that students who donate during the drive may receive convocations credit for their contribution. If you plan to donate, please make an appointment online with kybloodcenter.org or by calling 800-775-2522. Donors are required to have their photo ID and students will need their student ID.

On Thursday Evening, Alice Lloyd College Theatre (in association with ALC’s Alpha Chi Omega) will present its first performance of Southern Fried Funeral by Osborne and Eppler. The play will begin in the Campbell Arts Center at 7 pm and admission is free. Students attending Thursday nights’ performance will be given convocations credit. ALC Theatre will also be performing the play in the Campbell Arts Center at 7 pm on Friday, March 31st and Saturday, April 1st. Resident Advisors will also conduct dormitory room checks in all dorms on Thursday evening. Student Services wishes to remind ALC students that R.A.s are needed for all five residence halls next semester. Interested students should pick up applications from DSC 205 and turn them in by April 14th.
