On Tuesday, January 24, 2023, Alice Lloyd College’s Student Government Association hosted a Kentucky Blood Center blood drive in Cushing Hall from 11 am until 3 pm.
SGA hosts 2 blood drives per semester, four total during the school year. The last blood drive on campus was November 18, 2022 in Cushing Hall and the next campus blood drive will be on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. During the last event, 16 pints were donated. In total, 39 pints of blood were donated during the fall 2022 semester through the two SGA hosted blood drives.
SGA President Blair reported that 26 students donated, or attempted to donate, at the January 24 blood drive and gave 22 pints of blood. This brings the yearly total to 61 pints of blood donated during this year’s SGA hosted blood drives. Students who donated blood received convocation credit for the event.
SGA President Blair was grateful to the 6 SGA officers who helped host the event as well as the staff of the Kentucky Blood Center who conducted the drive. Mr. Blair is proud of student participation in the event and appreciates everyone who donated.
