U.S. News and World Report evaluates institutions based on several standards, including academic quality and financial statistics. When asked about ALC’s ranking, President Jim Stepp said, “Alice Lloyd College provides an affordable, leadership-focused and character-based education right here in the mountains. Our graduates are in high demand by potential employers and graduate schools. We are pleased to again be recognized nationally for our quality and value by the U.S. News and World Report.”

Nearly a century ago, Mrs. Lloyd set out to provide an education to the youth of Appalachia. The College continues that mission today, working to keep the cost of education affordable so that students from the mountains, regardless of financial ability, can attend college. We are proud to see the traditions Mrs. Lloyd set forth so long ago earn national recognition today.
