Recently, Alice Lloyd College was nationally ranked among the best colleges and universities for economic mobility and return on investment for low-income students and Pell Grant recipients by Third Way. The College ranked number one in the state of Kentucky and number 34 nationally. ALC also ranked the highest of any institution in the Appalachian Region.

Third Way, a national think tank that focuses on innovation and research, uses its Economic Mobility Index to evaluate how well colleges and universities serve students from low-income households as well as the proportion of enrolled students with low- and moderate-income. Third Way uses a tier system to sort institutions by percentage for economic mobility.  

Alice Lloyd College’s tuition guarantee ensures that students from our 108-county service area pay zero out-of-pocket tuition costs. Students also work to offset the cost of their education through the Student Work Program. Full-time students are required to work a minimum of ten hours per week in various positions across campus. After graduation, over 95% of graduates are working or in professional school within six months.
