Alice Lloyd College has named Brittney Buttrey-Owens as the head Cross Country and Track coach for the 2022-23 season. The new mentor will guide both the men’s and women’s programs. She served as an assistant in all four sports during the 2021-22 campaign.

The 2020 graduate of ALC was a 4-year star cross country athlete and was also on the school’s first-ever track and field squad. She qualified individually for the nationals all four years she ran and helped lead the Lady Eagles team to three NCCAA DII National Cross-Country Tournament appearances

During her senior year, Buttrey-Owens was named to the prestigious NCCAA DII Women’s All- American Team. In the national meet, the native of Isom, Kentucky, finished 4th overall, running the 5K course (3.1 miles) in a then-school record time of 20:36.

In addition, she also was named a Scholar-Athlete by both the NAIA and the NCCAA, as well as winning the Champion of Character Award.
