We award the ALC Women’s Student-Athlete of the Week (for the week of April 18-24) to Softball pitcher Maleigh McDaniel.
McDaniel appeared in four contests, two as a starter and two in relief, against the University of Pikeville and Miami Middletown (OH).
Over 14 innings of work, she allowed just 5 earned runs, 11 hits, and 4 walks. McDaniel also struck out 17 batters.
In an impressive showing at Miami, she stuck out 9 batters in five innings. The fastball hurler also earned a big win against Pikeville (KY), as she came on in the seventh inning and slammed the door shut on a victory.
Additionally, at the plate, McDaniel had 2 hits and 2 RBIs.
