Over the weekend, ALC’s Phi Beta Lambda traveled to Georgetown College and competed in Kentucky’s State PBL Leadership Conference. At the conference, they won numerous accolades, including the overall awards of Outstanding Local Chapter in the state of Kentucky and Local Chapter Annual Business Report.

In addition to overall awards, several members placed in the individual competitions. Brittany Taylor and Misty Wooton won first place for PBL’s Community Service Project. Brittany also placed first in Networking Concepts. Haley Hurd placed first in Macroeconomics, and Peyton Sexton placed first in Impromptu Speaking and Microeconomics. PBL President Misty Wooton states, “Our members did really well and are looking forward to going to nationals in Chicago. Thank you to our faculty advisor Mrs. Denise Jacobs for traveling with us and making this trip memorable.”

Alice Lloyd College would like to congratulate all PBL members for their hard work and success at Kentucky’s PBL Leadership Conference. ALC’s Phi Beta Lambda is one of the many clubs and organizations at the College that assists in educating the future leaders of Appalachia.
