Greenville, SC: Following the completion of the Regional Championship playoffs, the NCCAA tournament committee chose the At-Large Selections and seeded the field for the Division I Men’s Basketball National Championship. Alice Lloyd College was awarded the #1 seed. The Eagles, from Pippa Passes, KY, enter the tournament with the best record in the NCCAA (26-5).

On the season, ALC was ranked in the top 10 in numerous team categories. The Eagles finished 2nd in the NCCAA in rebounds per game (43.2rpg). They were also 1st in assist/turnover ratio (1.44), 2nd in scoring margin (10.3), 3rd in FG% (47.8), 6th in scoring (83ppg), 6th in blocks (3.41), 8th in 3PT FG% (36.3), 8th in opponent 3PT FG% (32.2) and 9th in defense (72.6ppg).

The squad enters the tournament as the Mideast Region Champions for the third consecutive year and is known for its strong balance. Senior guard Noah Young is averaging 13.6ppg. Additionally, this season, he finished 1st in the NCCAA in both assists (6.4) and assist/turnover ratio (4 to 1). Young was named 3rd Team All American by the NCCAA last year and is a 3-time All-Mideast Region selection. He has scored over 1600 points and registered over 500 assists as an Eagle.

Junior forward Will Philpot was second in the conference in rebounding (10.3) for the third consecutive season. He finished 4th in the NCCAA in rebounding. He also averaged 12.2 points per game on 54.5% shooting. Additionally, he had 14 double-doubles this year and was named First Team All Mideast Region.

Sophomore forward Damon Tobler averages 13.4 points on 50% shooting and is second on the club with 6.7 rebounds. He was also named First Team All Mideast Region.

In addition, sophomore guard/forward Ben Soumahoro (13 points on 52.7% shooting) and junior guard Bryce Slone (10.5 points on 44.4 % 3- point shooting) both cracked double digits. Both were named Second Team All Mideast Region.

Alice Lloyd opens play on Wednesday, March 16th in Winona Lake, Indiana, against the #8 seed, the Hannibal- Lagrange University Trojans (MO). HLU upset top-seeded Judson University 64-58 to win the North Central Region. Tipoff is set for 5:15pm (EST).
