Pippa Passes, KY: On March 4th the NCCAA Mideast Regional Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles hosted the Rio Grande Lady Red Storm. Following are recaps of each contest.

GAME ONE: Rio-13; Alice Lloyd-2

Several critical errors inning proved hard to overcome in game 1.

The visitors opened up the scoring in the second with 2 runs on 3 hits (2-0), but they doubled that amount one inning later with 4 hits (6-0).

ALC would gain 1 back in their first at-bat on a double from Baylie Compton (SS) (6-1).

In the fourth, RGU would plate 1 run (7-1) only to watch Alice Lloyd gain in right back on Baylee Cox’s (DH) double (7-2).

Unfortunately, 4 Eagle errors allowed Rio to unload in the sixth with 6 runs to salt the game away (13-2).

Mackenzie Brewer suffered the loss on the mound. She went three innings, allowing 10 hits and 3 earned runs.

The Eagles were outhit, 14-7, but committed 6 errors.

 Rio-11; Alice Lloyd-1

The visitors broke the game open in the middle innings to earn the sweep.

Rio scored 4 runs in the second on 2 hits and 2 errors to lead 4-0. Three more hits produced 2 in the third (6-0).

In the fourth, the Ohio club used 3 errors and 2 hits to plate 5 big runs (11-0).

ALC would score their lone run in the fourth when Mayleigh McDaniel (P) singled (11-1). However, two singles in their last at bat failed to produce any runs.

For ALC, four singles were all they were able to produce on the day with McDaniel driving in the single run.

Pitcher McDaniel suffered the loss, allowing 9 runs on 6 hits.

BC took the hitting battle by only three (7-4) but was greatly helped by 5 Lady Eagle errors.
