Owensboro, KY: The Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles used a devastating first-half blitz to defeat the home-standing Brescia University Lady Bearcats, 86-70. The contest was held Saturday afternoon.

In the opening period, the Lady Eagles put on an impressive defensive display, holding BU to just 2 field goals. ALC would lead 21-7 after ten minutes. In the second stanza, the attack would be blistering on the offensive end as great ball movement enabled the Caney Creek crew to sink 11-15 field goals. ALC would outscore the hosts 27-15, and hold a stunning 48-22 cushion at intermission. As the third period began, the Lady Bearcats would attempt to fight back and they would take the period, 22-15. However, Alice Lloyd still held a commanding 63-37 lead entering the final frame. In the closing ten minutes, the Pippa Passes squad continued to play everyone freely as they sealed the deal on the impressive victory.

For ALC (8-4; 2-2 RSC), Senior guard Haley Hall led the way with 15 points including 3-6 bombs. She added 6 rebounds and 4 assists. She was joined in double digits by fellow seniors, center Alexandria Clifton, and guard Hannah Kash with 12 and 10 points respectively. Four other players registered at least 7 points in a nice, balanced attack.

ALC finished shooting 54.5% (36-66) from the field and 58.8% (10-18) from long range. They connected on 67% (4-6) from the charity line while adding 31 rebounds, 16 assists, and 6 steals

BU (1-9; 1-2 RSC) was paced by Courtney Peyton with 15 points. Her squad finished shooting 41.7% (25-60) from the field and 50% (10-20) from behind the arc. From the foul line, they finished 10-12 for 83.3%. They also added 37 rebounds, 10 assists, and 5 steals.

The Lady Eagles close out the 2021 year on December 15th when they travel to NCAA DII Emory and Henry College. Tipoff is at 1:00 pm.
