Pippa Passes, KY: The Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles rode the hot hand of senior guard Ali May and defeated the Emory and Henry College Lady Wasps, 69-58. The non-conference contest was held Thursday, December 2nd

In the opening period, the pace was slow as both teams would size each other up. However, E&H would close with a short flurry, and lead 16-13 after ten minutes. In the second stanza, May caught fire and bagged three consecutive long bombs. Due to her marksmanship, ALC would outscore the Virginia squad 21-17, and hold a razor-thin 34-33 advantage at intermission.

As the third period began, the Caney Creek club would follow the familiar script as May pumped in 8 more points to spark her club once again. The two combatants would match their output from the previous quarter, and the Pippa Passes ladies led 55-50 entering the final period. In the closing ten minutes, the teams continued to battle, but the turning point came when the home squad tightened up the screws on defense. ALC would hold the Lady Wasps to only 8 total points in the stanza, and pull away for the nice 11-point victory.

For Alice Lloyd (6-4), May led all scorers, as she drained half of her 14 shots to finish with 20 points (including 6-9 bombs). Fellow senior guard Haley Hall chipped in with 12 points and added 8 assists and 5 rebounds.

In addition, freshman Madison Thompson came through with 11 points and 8 rebounds, senior center Bailee Brainard led the way with 11 boards, senior center Alexandria Clifton swatted 3 shots, and freshman guard Katie Jo Moore had 3 steals.
