Morehead, KY: The Alice Lloyd College Eagles took a break from regular-season action as they traveled to Morehead to play their second exhibition contest of the season.

On this day, ALC would face NCAA DI Morehead State University. The host Eagles, the defending Ohio Valley Conference champions, are coached by former Alice Lloyd basketball alumnus, Preston Spradlin. The game would remain close for a half, but when the dust had settled, MU would be on top, 87-47.

In the opening half, the Pippa Passes boys would do an excellent job controlling the tempo and keep the score within striking distance.  When big man Colyn Sturgill drained a deep bomb with .32 remaining, his club would only trail 34-22 at intermission. However, in the second half, Morehead heated up from long range as they drained 10-17 triples.  Due to their red-hot shooting, the home-town squad would pull away until the final buzzer sounded on the contest.

On the day, the Caney Creek crew was paced by guard Noah Young, who tossed in 13 points, handed off 5 assists, and grabbed 2 steals. Damon Tobler also reached double digits as the forward contributed 12 points. Forward Will Philpot was close behind with 8 points, and all three Eagles registered 3 rebounds apiece.

The Eagles return to regular season play on December 29th when they travel to Wilmore to face Asbury University. They then have their final exhibition contest of the season when they battle Eastern Kentucky University on New Year’s Eve, at 3:00pm.
