Gallatin, TN: On October 8th, the Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles volleyball team journeyed to the Volunteer State to face home-standing Welch College. Coach Nathan Halls club had a tussle on their hands but was eventually rewarded with two nice victories.

In the first game, the two squads played even volleyball in an action-packed game. Finally, the hosts went on a late run to win, 20-25.

The Lady Eagles looked focused in game 2 as both clubs battled intensely. Fortunately, ALC made the key plays late on their way to the tight 25- 22 decision.

In the third set, the hometown Flames were determined to move ahead, but once again, a nail-biter saw Alice Lloyd close out late to earn the big win, 25-20.

In the fourth set, the Caney Creek club hoped to finish the match. Unfortunately, Welch had other plans and pulled out the thriller, 23-25.

In the winner-take-all fifth set, the Lady Eagles took control from the beginning as they pulled out to a big lead. They would hold on for the decisive 15-11 win.

On the day for the victors, Caroline Parsons led the squad with 19 assists while Brooklyn Cheek topped the club in kills with 15.

Jayden Rogers led the group in digs with 23 while Kristin Issac added 7 aces to the cause.

In the third set, Alice Lloyd hoped to finish the match in straight sets, but the hometown Flames were determined to stop them. A nail-biter saw Welch knot the score at 22-22 before the Pippa Passes ladies scored the final points to earn the big win, 25-23.

On the day for the victors, Parsons led the squad with 14 assists while Reiley McCoy topped in kills with 10. Cheek and Jasmin Hamilton, both registered 2 blocks.

Jenni Droke paved the way in digs with 15 while Rogers collected 4 aces for the victors.
