Pippa Passes, KY: On September 25th, the Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles volleyball squad hosted Welch College and Johnson University in two games. When the smoke had cleared, ALC had earned a split.

In the opening game, the Eagles were tied at 1-1 before they uncorked a 24-0 blitz to blow the contest away, 25-1

In Game 2, Welch fought hard and only trailed 16-13 before the hosts closed out the game on a 9-3 run to win, 25-16.

In Game 3, ALC was in command as they raced out to a quick advantage before cruising to the 25-16 clincher.

On the day for ALC, junior Reiley McCoy and sophomore Brooklyn Cheek led with 13 and 10 kills, respectively. Junior Adrianna Riley contributed 15 digs to the club. Sophomore Caroline Parsons recorded 21 assists, while Cheek and freshman Lakyn Porter both registered 4 blocks. Senior Jenni Droke led the squad with 8 aces.

In the second match, the Eagles battled hard in Game 1 and had the contest tied at 22 before JU closed out things, 23-25.

In Game 2, Johnson quickly gained the upper hand and coasted to the 9-25 win.

In Game 3, the match was close early before the visitors went on a big 16-3 spurt to take the game and match, 8-25.

On the day for ALC, Cheek led with 9 kills while Parsons recorded 9 assists. Senior McKenzie Brewer had her squad’s only ace while Riley contributed 12 digs to the club. Three different Lady Eagles had 1 block apiece.
