Midway, KY: The Alice Lloyd College Eagles traveled to Midway for a River States Conference matchup against the Midway University Eagles. The host squad took advantage of a cold-shooting game by the visitors to win 85-63.

In the opening half, the hometown club came out ready to play and sprinted to a 21-7 lead at the 12:31 mark.

However, sparked by junior guard Chandler Stewart and sophomore forward Damon Tobler, ALC closed the half on a 23-13 run. When Stewart drilled a long bomb just before intermission, the central Kentucky squad only led 34-30 at intermission.

In the second half, MU would ride the play of Kwon Evans to pull back ahead by double digits. This time, the visiting Eagles normally steady shooting went south, as they were unable to mount another comeback.

For ALC (14-5), three players reached double figures. They were led on the night by Stewart with 14 points. Tobler added 10 points and a game-high 15 rebounds, while freshman guard Jared Strickland also chipped in with 10 points.

Stewart and Strickland both had 2 steals while senior guard Noah Young handed out 4 assists.

ALC shot uncharacteristically poor, finishing at 36.9% (24-65) from the field and 33.3% (5-15) from the long-range. They sank just 58.8% (10-17) from the foul line. They added 44 rebounds, 10 assists, and 8 steals.

For Midway (7-9), Evans led all scorers with 29 points. His club finished shooting 47.1% (32-68) from the floor and 41.4% (12-29) from behind the arc. They hit 64.3% (9-14) from the foul line. They also added 41 rebounds, 17 assists, and 10 steals.

ALC returns to action this week on Tuesday the 16th when they travel to Johnson University for a 5:00 pm game. On Wednesday they host Carolina University at 7:00 pm.
