Gallatin, TN: On October 10, the Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles volleyball team journeyed to the Volunteer State to face home-standing Welch College. Coach Nathan Halls club had a tussle on their hands but was eventually rewarded with two nice victories.

In the first game, the two squads played even volleyball in an action-packed game. Finally, the hosts scored the last two points to win a thriller, 26-24.The Eagles looked focused in game 2 as both clubs battled intensely. Fortunately, ALC made the key plays late on their way to the tight 25- 20 decision.

In the third set, the home-town Flames were determined to move ahead. Once again, a nail-biter saw Alice Lloyd close out late to earn the big win, 25-22. In the fourth set, the Caney Creek club hoped to finish the match and they put together an impressive display leading all the way. They would seal the deal with a big 25-10 victory.

On the day for the victors, freshman Caroline Parsons led the squad with 20 assists while sophomore Adrianna Riley had 13. Freshman Brooklyn Cheek topped the club in kills with 10. Sophomore Callie Richardson added 9 and junior Jasmin Hamilton contributed 8 and 3 blocks.

Riley led the group in digs with 19 while sophomore Jenni Droke chipped in with 16. Droke and freshman Elizabeth McIntosh added 3 aces to the cause.
