The 8th ALC Fall Invitational was held at a Stonecrest Golf Course on Sept 14/15. The weather was ideal for golf both days but the course was very wet. Stonecrest did an outstanding job of hosting our tournament.
ALC Eagle Reece Ison shot 75/74 for a total of +5 for the two rounds finishing 4 shots behind medalist Will Molen of Midway University. Freshman Mason Compton shot 76/86 and ALC Eagles shot 327/331 for 658 to finish 7th of 8.
Midway Eagles won the men’s tournament shooting 297/294 for 591 with Camron Turner finishing second as a player along with Molen’s first-place individual finish. Asbury Eagles finished second as a team, shooting 305/308 for a total of 613.
Asbury won the women’s tournament shooting 336/322 for 658 and a 31 shot win over second-place Oakland City. Faith Wiley of Asbury was the women’s medalist shooting 78/74 for a 4 shot win over Hannah McCrabb of Asbury and Rafaella Gioffre of Rio Grande. McCrabb won the scorecard playoff used to break ties due to the COVID pandemic.
Mason Compton played very well for his first college tournament and Reece Ison continued his solid play from last year. Eagles golfers hope to play improved golf next week in the NCCAA Mideast regional at Gibson Bay Golf Course in Richmond, KY.
