Richmond, KY: On September 21/22, the Alice Lloyd College Eagles men’s golf team participated in their second match of the year. The NCCAA Mideast Regional Tournament was held at Gibson Bay Golf Course in Richmond, Kentucky.

Aaron Minor performed exceptionally well as he won the tournament, carding a two-round total of 74/78 for 152. With the big win, Minor earned himself an automatic trip to the NCCAA National Tournament at Hammock Beach resort in Palm Coast Florida. This makes the second consecutive year that a golfer from ALC has achieved this feat.

Not far behind was Reece Ison, who shot a solid 76/80 for 156. This final score earned him a place on the all-regional team.

Overall, the Eagles team shot 327/334 for a two-round total of 661, which gave them a tie for second place with Kentucky Christian University. However, in the final placement, ALC was awarded second place on the strength of Wyatt Crisp’s superior 5th man score over KCU’s fifth man.

Alice Lloyd College now waits to see if they earn an at-large spot in NCCAA nationals. The next two tournaments are the UPike Fall Invite scheduled for September 26/27 at Stonecrest Golf Course in Prestonsburg and the RSC Fall Preview, scheduled at the Belterra Resort in Richmond, IN on September 28/29.
