Pippa Passes, KY: On September 10th, the Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles volleyball team played host to a solid club from Rio Grande University. The game was close in the first two sets before the visitors pulled away. They would then seal the victory in set three.

In Set one, the two teams battled early with neither gaining the upper hand. However, at the halfway point, Rio went on a nice run and closed the set to win 25-14.
In Set two, the visitors led 12-8 before running off an 8-2 burst and eventually taking the contest, 25-14.
In Set three, the visiting Red Storm roared out, determined to end the match and built a big lead. The Lady Eagles fought back, but the deficit was too great to overcome; they fell 25-12.
On the day for the home team, sophomore Adrianna Riley led the squad with 11 assists while freshmen Brooklyn Cheek and Reiley McCoy led in kills with 6 and 5, respectively. Freshman Pauline Tolintino paved the way in digs with 5.
The Lady Eagles return to action next Tuesday when they travel to Appalachian Bible College for a NCCAA Mideast Regional match.
