Midway, KY: On Saturday, September 19th, the Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles volleyball team journeyed to Midway University. The Eagles had a tough night as they fell in straight sets to their formidable foe. Below is a summary of the contest.

In the opening game, the hosts led 6-4 before going on a massive 14-2 blitz to pull away for the big win, 25-9.

Game 2 was eerily similar. Midway held a slim 9-7 advantage before unleashing a 13-2 run that blew the game wide open and lifted them to a 25-10 victory.

In game 3, ALC played with fire in their eyes and looked to turn the tables as they sprinted to an 8-3 advantage. Unfortunately, the home club would battle back and eventually take the lead. They then managed to close out the night in straight sets with a 25-15 finish.

On the day for the Lady Eagles, sophomore Adrianna Riley (5) and freshman Caroline Parsons (4) paced the squad in assists while sophomore Jenni Droke (5) and senior McKenzie Brewer (4) led the way in digs. Sophomore Callie Richardson (4) paved the way in kills while freshman Brooklyn Cheek contributed 3 more to the cause.

The Lady Eagles (2-5) return to action this Tuesday when they journey to Asbury University for a 7 pm showdown.
