MIDDLETOWN, Ohio — Alice Lloyd (Ky.) College senior Blake Smith had a huge week and a big milestone to notch River States Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 20-26. It is his second RSC weekly honor of the year.
A 6-3 guard from Manchester, Ky., Smith averaged 33.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists in two games.
He scored 67 points on the week to surpass 2,000 for his career. Smith had two double-doubles, made 44 percent from the floor and 75 percent from the foul line.
Despite 35 points, 11 assists and five rebounds from Smith, the Eagles dropped an 88-85, overtime result to WVU Tech. He finished off the week with 32 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Rio Grande (Ohio). Smith is currently third in the nation in scoring at 27ppg.
Alice Lloyd is 10-11, 4-5 RSC and will host Carlow (Pa.) and Point Park (Pa.) this weekend.
