Pippa Passes, KY – The Lady Eagles cruised to a big home victory over the Welch College Lady Flames on Monday, December 16th in the ALC Campus Center.

The Lady Eagles began to pull away from the Lady Flames early in the contest and ended the first quarter with a 10-point advantage, 27-17. In the second quarter, the Lady Eagles continued the pace and went into halftime with a 16-point lead, 44-28.

In the third quarter, the Lady Eagles continued to pull away from the visitors and the quarter ended with a score of 75-46. In the final stanza, the Lady Eagles built their biggest lead of the game at 39 points and coasted to the win with a final score of 94-55.

Junior guard Haley Hall led all scorers with 16 points and added five rebounds. Junior guard Shelby Davis, junior center Alex Clifton, and freshman guard Jasmine Eley followed closely with 15 points apiece. Junior guard Ali May contributed 12 points and five rebounds. Junior center Bailee Brainard pulled down six rebounds.

The Lady Eagles connected on 43.6% (34/78) from the floor, including 10-29 (34.5%) from the three-point line. They hit 16-19 from the free-throw line and added 44 rebounds, seven assists, and ten steals.

The Lady Eagles (6-5, 1-2) are off through Christmas and will return to the hardwood on December 30th as they travel to Milligan College for a 2:00 pm matchup with the Lady Buffaloes. They follow that up on the 31st in Greeneville, Tennessee, as they face Tusculum University at 1:00 PM.
