The Alice Lloyd College Cross Country Team was honored as one of their own was named to the NCCAA Women’s DII All-American squad. Only the top five finishers in the NCCAA National Cross Country Tournament receive this award, so only the absolute best of the best are honored.

For the Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles, freshman Carlee Salyers was one of the elite recipients. Salyers, a native of Wise, Virginia, finished 3rd at nationals on November 16th. She completed the 5K course of 3.1 miles (with the fastest time in school history at the NCCAA Tournament) in 20:01.

In addition, Salyers also finished 5th in the NAIA River States Conference Tournament held on November, 9th in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with a conference tournament school-record time of 20:06.  In addition to being named to the seven-member RSC First Team All-Conference squad, she was also named the RSC Newcomer of the Year.

In addition, Salyers’ time of 20:06 earned her a spot in the upcoming NAIA Women’s Cross Country Nationals. This event will take place on November 22nd in Vancouver, Washington.
