Palm Coast, FL – Alice Lloyd junior golfer Reece Ison competed in the 2019 NCCAA Men’s National Golf Championship held on The Conservatory Course at the Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Florida, on October 21st – 23rd.
The Conservatory Course is a very long, open All-Bermuda grass course, and the conditions were ideal: mid 80’s, light winds and low humidity.
Ison earned his way to the big show by finishing as runner-up in the Mid-East Regional Golf Championship held on September 23rd – 24th.
The excitement was in the air as 47 top golfers took to the links. Unfortunately, Ison had a tough time on the challenging course for all three rounds, shooting 85/80/90 for a total of 255, good for 41st of 47 golfers.
However, this was the first time Reece competed in a national level tournament, and the first time any ALC golfer had ever qualified for a national level tournament. This was a great learning experience and one that will serve him well in the future.
Next up for the golf team is the ALC Eagle Invitational at Nob North Golf Course in Cohutta, Georgia, on October 28th – 29th, the final event of the fall season.
