Mount Hope, WV: On September 17th, the Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles volleyball team journeyed to the Mountaineer State to face home-standing Appalachian Bible College. Coach Nathan Hall’s squad jumped out to a good start in each game against their fellow Mideast Regional member and earned the big sweep.

ALC led from start to finish. In the first set, the visitors jumped out to an early lead and gradually increased it until the very end, 25-19.
The Eagles looked solid in set 2 as they roared out to a 22-3 advantage on their way to the 25-13 decision. ABC would battle in the third set, but Alice Lloyd would then complete the sweep by pulling away with a 25-21 score.
On the day for the victors, Samantha Sturgill led the squad with 15 assists. Lindsey Perkins topped in kills with 6 and was closely followed by Callie Richardson with 5 and AJ Riley with 4. Haley Smith paved the way in digs with 16 while Riley and Sturgill chipped in with 6 and 5 respectively. Kim Lee and Jasmin Hamilton each recorded 2 digs.
The Lady Eagles return to the court this weekend for two big road games. On Saturday, they journey to Knoxville, Tennessee, to face UC Clermont and Johnson University in a tri-match. The first game is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
