Prestonsburg, KY: The Alice Lloyd Eagles golf team returned to the links over the weekend to participate in the UPike Invitational. The event was played at Stone Crest Golf Course in Prestonsburg September 28th and 29th. The tournament was hosted by Pikeville, who did a fantastic job on a weekend that was hot and dry.
ALC golfers shot 311/315 for 626, good for 3rd of 5 teams. Reece Ison continued his solid play, as he shot 70/73 for a 4 shot win over UPike’s Blake Moody.
Aaron Minor shot 73/80 for 153 and 7th place, just one stroke out of the all-tournament team. Sophomores Hayden Halbert, Matthew Henson, and Korey Hanson all showed great improvement, with Halbert shooting a personal best 83 in the second round.
Next up for Eagles golf is the Shawnee State Roger Merb Invitational at The Elks Golf Course in McDermott, Ohio October 14th and 15th.
