Prestonsburg, KY: The 7th annual ALC Eagle Fall Invitational was played at Stonecrest Golf Course in Prestonsburg, KY on Sept 9/10. The weather was clear, sunny, and very warm. Seven schools (University of Pikeville, Milligan College, Rio Grande University, Ohio Christian University, Bryan College, University of Virginia at Wise and Alice Lloyd College) fielded teams for this event.
After the dust had settled, Pikeville won the tournament shooting 295/288 for a two-round total of 583. This was one of the best scores ever in a college tournament at Stonecrest. Rio Grande University was second, 10 shots back at 593.
Two UPike golfers, Trey Isenberg and Blake Moody, along with Logan Sheets of Rio Grande shot 141 for the two rounds to tie for first. Isenberg won the tournament on the first playoff hole and Sheets won second place on the second playoff hole.
ALC golfer Reece Ison shot well both rounds and finished just one stroke back at 142 to place 4th. Michael Cooper of Ohio Christian shot 143 to place 5th and round out the all-tournament team. All 5 members of the all-tournament team were under par in the well-played match.
As a group, the Eagles golf team shot 324/309 for 633 to finish 7th of 7. Unfortunately, they dropped several placements due to just one touch score on one difficult hole.
All in all, it was Alice Lloyds best tournament. While Ison led Eagles golfers with the 142. Brit Bowling shot a solid 155, going 82/73.
