We split the Men’s Student-Athlete of the Week honor between track speedster Ryan Morris and baseball player Dalton Cornett.
Morris, from Lee (VA), became the first Eagle to medal in the River States Conference Track and Field Championship. In the 10000 meter race, the junior finished in a time of 35:04, which earned him third place overall. In addition, he has qualified for the upcoming NCCAA Track and Field Outdoor National Championship, scheduled for May 8th-10th in Winona Lake, Indiana.
Cornett from Pippa Passes (KY), finished the week with an impressive showing on the diamond.
In six contests, the sophomore batted .454 (10-22) with two home runs, nine RBI’s, six runs scored, and one steal.
