Lake Winona, IN: The Alice Lloyd Men’s and Women’s Track and Field teams, coached by Brandon Arnold, traveled to the Hoosier state to compete in their first-ever NCCAA National Track and Field Championship. The Eagles had five participants who had earned the right to represent their school. This year’s event was hosted by Grace College (IN).

In women’s action, two competitors qualified to participate. Senior Brittney Buttery gave a solid effort in the women’s 10000 meter, finishing in 12th place (47:07) Additionally, freshman Allie Rose just missed scoring in the discus, finishing 9th with a throw of 32.5M

In men’s action, Ryan Morris gave a spirited effort, earning 9th place overall in the 10000-meter run finals. His finishing time was 34:34

Freshman Dakota Owens barely missed qualifying for the finals in both the 400 meter and 200-meter run. In the 400, he finished 9th in a time of 50.61 seconds, a mere .30 away from the finals while his 200M time of 22.77 was .66 seconds over the limit.

Freshman Alex Lewis also participated in the 800-meter run and finished with a respectable time of 2:10.

The Eagles had a solid year in their first season of completion and return the majority of their squad next year. Coach Arnold is anticipating even greater things in 2020.
