We split the Female Athlete of the Week honor between junior Katie Moore (Hyden (KY), sophomore Haley Hall (Grayson, KY), and senior Emilee Harrell (Madisonville TN) for their solid play during two big tournament victories.

Junior Katie Moore had a solid week in helping to lead the Lady Eagles to the upcoming RSC Women’s Championship game and win their eighth consecutive victory. In quarterfinal action against Rio Grande, she provided a 14 point, 7 assist, 3 steals, and 1 rebound effort.

Later, against IUE in the semi-finals, she came through with 18 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal. Additionally in that contest, her bucket and free throw with just under 2:00 to play gave her squad a lead it would never relinquish.

For the Week, she averaged 16 points (50% FG; 50% 3FG; 72.7% FT), 2 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals per outing.

Sophomore guard Haley Hall provided her typical performance. Against Rio Grande, she had 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Later, against IUE in the semi-finals, she came through with 12 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 3 steals.

Senior center Emilee Harrell stepped up as well. Against Rio Grande, she had 11 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks.

Later, against IUE in the semi-finals, she came through with 14 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist, and 4 blocks.

The Lady Eagles now advance to the RSC Women’s Championship game on Tuesday, February 26th, at West Virginia Tech University, in Beckley, WV. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 pm.

By virtue of winning their respective divisions during the regular season, both squads have already secured the conferences two automatic bids to the NAIA DII National Championship, beginning March 6th in Sioux City, Iowa.
