Midway, KY: The Alice Lloyd College Eagles jumped out to a 13 point lead in the opening half, but were unable to sustain the momentum and fell to the home-standing Midway University Eagles, 95-83. The River States Conference matchup was held on Tuesday, January 8.
In the first stanza, the two squads played evenly to open up the contest. With the score knotted at 10 with 17:28 showing, the visiting Eagles went on a roll.
Over the next seven minutes, ALC would produce a big run. When senior guard Ryan House drained a trifecta at the halfway point, the score was 28-15.
Rather than roll over, MU would answer in resounding fashion. The hosts would proceed to unleash a 33-8 blitz to finish up the half and would take a 48-36 advantage at intermission
In the second half, Midway would hold their double-digit lead most of the way. Alice Lloyd would make one late run to get within eight points, and they would then get an attempt to shrink the deficit even more. Unfortunately, the shot was short and the hosts would then close out the game to earn the victory.
