Cincinnati, OH – The Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles won their second consecutive conference game with a come-from-behind 80-75 victory over the Cincinnati Christian University Lady Eagles. The contest was played on December 4th.

In the first period, Alice Lloyd got off to a hot start as they drained six trifectas. Incredibly, the hosts did not panic and led 25-21 after ten minutes.

In the second quarter, the two squads traded buckets before CCU made a late push.  The home squad would enter halftime with a 43-36 cushion.

The third period saw the momentum swing once more as sophomore guard Haley Hall and junior forward Jayla Spurlock led a resurgence for the women from Caney Creek. The visiting Eagles would slice the deficit to just one (60-59) heading into the final stanza.

Alice Lloyd said enough is enough in the last period as they took the lead and managed to hold it against the gutsy hosts. The visitors sank clutch free throws at the end to seal the nice win.

For the victors (5-4; 2-1 RSC), Hall led all scorers with 19 points as she finished 5-10 from the floor and a perfect 4-4 from deep. She added 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Senior guard Courtney Vasquez came up huge as the veteran came off the bench to toss it 13 points, including some huge free throws, and add 3 assists. Spurlock finished 3-4 from deep and add 12 points, 4 assists, and 6 rebounds. Sophomore center Alex Clifton was right behind with 9 points and 6 rebounds while junior guard Katie Moore dished out 8 assists.

The victors shot a season-low 37.3% (19-51) from the floor and 44.4% (12-27) from long range. They finished at 68.2% (30-42) from the charity line, while adding 40 rebounds, 16 assists, and 8 steals.

CCU (3-7; 1-2 RSC) was led on the night by forward Autumn Westmoreland with 15 points. Her squad shot 43.1% (28-65) from the field and 35% (7-20) from deep. They finished at 57.1% (12-21) from the charity stripe, while adding 33 rebounds, 18 assists, and 9 steals.
