Cincinnati, OH – The ALC Eagles torched the nylons for 111 points, but it was not enough as they dropped a barnburner to the host Cincinnati Christian University Eagles, 118-111 on Tuesday night.

From the tipoff, the scorekeeper was kept busy as the two squads ran the floor at a breakneck pace. ALC would post 47 points in the opening half, but the hosts came ready to play. CCU entered the locker room at intermission holding a 56-47 advantage.

In the second half, the pace would get even more frantic as the squads traded buckets. Alice Lloyd got a huge effort from junior guard Blake Smith and fought valiantly to tie the game, but the host squad managed to maintain a slight advantage until the buzzer sounded.

For the victors (5-6, 1-2 RSC), four players reached double figures. They were led in scoring by Kobe Brown and Brandon McQueen, each with 24. Blake Walsman added 23 points and 18 big rebounds.

CCU shot 51.4% (36-70) from the floor and finished 40.7% (11-27) from behind the arc. They also came up huge from the charity stripe, connecting on 81.4%% (35-43) from the foul line, and also added 47 rebounds, 21 assists, and 5 steals.

For the visiting Eagles (3-7, 0-3 RSC), four players reached double figures. Smith came up big in the losing effort, as he poured in 36 points on 14-24 field goals (5-10 from deep), and added 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Junior forward Chance Cornett pumped in 23 points and tied senior forward Simon Christon for rebounding honors with 7. Sophomore guard Noah Young contributed 19 points while adding 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Senior guard Ryan House sank 3-5 bombs and added 13 points.

Alice Lloyd shot 49.4% (42-85) from the floor and finished 30.7% (11-36) from behind the arc. They also from the charity stripe connected on 76.2%% (16-21), and added 35 rebounds, 15 assists, and 9 steals.

ALC returns to action this Saturday when they host the 8-2 Indiana University Indiana University Kokomo Cougars at 3:00 pm in a big conference showdown.
